Staffordshire Police is reminding residents to remain vigilant following ongoing reports of burglars targeting homes by attacking rear uPVC doors and exploiting weaknesses in door locking mechanisms. Offenders often target the rear of properties where they are less likely to be seen. Reports indicate that some criminals are attempting to gain entry by forcing or "snapping" vulnerable euro-cylinder locks fitted to uPVC doors, allowing access quickly and quietly. How to Protect Your Home🏠 Upgrade vulnerable locks 🔒 Always lock doors and windows 💡 Use security lighting and visible deterrents 🌳 Keep rear gardens secure 📦 Keep valuables out of sight 🤝 Support your community 🚨 Report suspicious behaviour RememberBurglars often look for the easiest opportunity. Taking simple steps to improve your home's security can significantly reduce the risk of becoming a victim of crime. If you witness a burglary in progress or believe a crime is taking place, call 999 immediately. For non-emergency information or to report suspicious activity, contact 101 or report online via the Staffordshire Police website. Working Together to Keep Staffordshire SafeNeighbourhood Policing Teams across Staffordshire continue to work with local communities to prevent burglary, identify offenders and provide crime prevention advice. By remaining vigilant and reporting concerns, residents can play an important role in helping to keep our communities safe. Staffordshire Police 🚓🏠🔒 | ||
